Greetings all,
I'm another FNG. I'm signed up and have all my hotel/motel assignments. I'm curious to know what to expect when we reach our daily destinations and what is expected the following morning when we get back on the road. Do we sign in each morning? Is there a rally point given that we're all staying in different motels/hotels? What time is reveilie?
I'm not new to riding. I've done Three Flag Rallies and lots of 7-10 day rides. I enjoy riding. I've been a Road Captain with my local chapter for a several years. We always ride stigard (sp) position. So, riding abreast will be new to me.
I'm really looking forward to this ride and, again, I'm just curious to know what to expect.

Robert..........Welcome to the Run For The Wall family. Seeing your in CA I assume your joining in Rancho. I advise you to sign in early Tue as there will be an FNG meeting scheduled sometime that day. There most all of your questions can be answered. If they aren't than feel free to ask questions of anyone in leadership. You will be able to tell them by the arm bands they will be wearing. Once signed in at Rancho your signed in for the entire run. Morning meetings are Mandatory each morning as they will contain info that may not be published. Each mornings starting location will be in a booklet you will get at registration. If your riding Central route you will be riding side by side. Southern route has 3 platoons that ride staggered. Either way ride your own ride/style and you will get the hang of it quickly.
If you need any more info email me rwmead@hotmail.com
Again Welcome and thank you for your service.

btorres, one thing that should be passed on is at the end of each day, after the evening event make sure you fuel up your bike. as in the morning you will not have a lot of time and right after the morning meeting, you go to your platoon and get ready to rock and roll, do not want to start out on empty

Raven--- u r so correct---everyone--attend ALL events--people go out of their way for us and we need to show our appreciation for what they do. yes u will be tired and want to rest , but we can all sleep when we r dead. and always a kind word to those who do for us. they greatly appreciate it. RFTW is so looked forward to. in rainelle ,wv right now--the children are asking--how long before the veterans n bikers come? i know--because they ask the ol Shadow. i live near there n have friends with children there.

Welcome FNGs! Be sure to attend those morning meetings and pay attention ~ they do share important info like how to get into Arlington, when to expect road construction and even where you might find a red-head.

ALL FNG's on the Southern Route, be especially especially careful of RedHeaded platoon leaders as they have been know to carry BIG cattle prods and make lots of U-turns........
Cowboy who shall ride Wayyyyyy out ahead of Redheaded platoon leaders.

Thanks to all of you for your inputs. I guess the only other question I have is when and where to show up for the first meeting on May 17th.
The more I read the more excited I get about this ride. The is nothing more personal than the comoradiere one experiences when associating with other combat veterans.

We are goin the SR. We are not vets just supporters. Both will be FNG's

Mudbug, I see your from Tijeras. I'm originally from Estancia (south of Moriarty). Do you have family in Estancia? Your name sound familiar.

Badger1 @ Mudbug........ Welcome to The Run For The Wall Family and thank you for your support. You are more than welcome to ride south to Las Cruces and join the ride to RC. Will do 2 things, give you time to enjoy some "unusual" company and get used to riding with this group as we try to get some practice time in on the way to RC. Rocket...... The CR Road Guard Captain had expressed interest in once again joining us for the ride out. He is from the ABQ area and you may want to get a hold of him and possibly ride down together. He is also on the forum here from time to time.
Again Welcome to the family and be prepared for the Ride of a life time.
Cowboy
p.s. The cattle prod an big stick comments are in jest..........maybe
