Screaming Eagle... read where you met the group last year in Mt. Vernon. I am a fellow Illinoisian living in O'Fallon. If you and your son would like to hook up sometime before RFTW to get aquainted, that would be cool. email: rkrum@mac.com

the many times i did RT i was moved to tears by those who turned out to support us. one lil old woman who was standing at the bend with a arm full of roses --looking us in the eye as we passed --saying -thank you.  and ofcourse ending up at the WALL to pay final respects before leaving on monday. traffic wasnt nearly as bad on monday morn leaving the DC area.

OK I just got a call from a buddy and was told the Holiday Inn Arlington DOES have rooms....I called and sure enough I got a room. I was told all they have left are king bed rooms and not 2 doubles but a room is a room. I apologize for any confusion I caused, I was relaying what info I had been given. Holiday Inn number is 703-243-9808

last year I waited and almost did not get the rooms I wanted, This year, started early and got what I wanted.  There will be rooms pop up from time to time, keep checking.  This year I may be posting for a room mate

I did the Rolling Thunder last year and I am going to step out on a limb here and say, it was OK - I guess MY expectations fell a little flat.  After sitting and waiting for 6 hours - the RT took a total of about 20 min after we got wheels rolling.  I would say do it - if for nothing except the braggin rights - will I do it next year - Nope...  but thats me.   In fact next year, Wife and I will be hitting the road that Sunday morning heading South along the Coast while EVERYONE else is heading North to DC...

Book you motels NOW...................  go off the 10 list.... it should work just fine and if there is a change.  make it...

Someone got conflicting information.

Several people have tried to or have completed their reservations at the Holiday Inn in Arlington, VA for 2011 RFTW.  The hotel has reported they have filled a small percentage of the rooms that are blocked out for RFTW XXIII.  They aren't sure who on their staff gave out the information they are full already.

Run For The Wall hasn't even released the official Hotel List to the web page yet.

The Route Coordinators are about to complete the process of gathering information from each State Coordinator and compiling the data.  It will be posted in the next few weeks.

There is a Run For The Wall RESERVATION CODE to use when you call in or get on line to register at both the Holiday Inn in Arlington and other Arlington hotels, it will be included in the Hotel List.

Sorry for the confusion.  Target date for Hotel List is still December 15th.  No delays that we know of at this time.

Wish everyone was as fortunate as I have been to see this process in action.  It's incredible to watch it all fall into place from one year to the next, (with all new leadership each year.) Hope this helps.

Thanks Raven, just took me awhile to get oriented again!!!  I was a day rider twice on the Southern Route before going ATW last year on the Central Route as an FNG. Any FNG's (to be) reading this: My advice, don't sleep in on Saturday..... The Arlington ride is one you will never forget. AND, since you are an FNG only once, you get ONE SHOT at this as only 250 motorcycles ( from RFTW ONLY) are allowed to ride in for the wreath laying. Don't blow it! It's one of those memories that is a keeper!!

Last year we stayed at the COMFORT INN on Glebe Rd, its just up the road from the Holiday Inn. It was a nice hotel and a lot cheeper than the Westin, and they have parking inside the courtyard.

Jerry...not quite sure what you mean they want you to check in on Thurs.  They do have a two night min but that should be Fri and Sat night.  Better check on that.

Well, the good news is the Westin is just across the street and the Holiday Inn will let you park your bikes in their lot (the Westin has a parking fee, but don't pay it - just park at the HI). And more good news, I made my reservation at the Holiday Inn today. May make a difference who you talk to but make sure you tell them you are with Run for the Wall, otherwise they are sold out. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, a couple of years ago when I stayed at the Westin I found out their beer is cheaper.
See you all real soon.

Yeah, the Holiday Inn Ballston has been 'sold out' for days! I got a room at the Hilton a block down the road right at the Metro.

I made my reservations off of last years hotel list. I might have to make a change or two but I know I have a place to sleep along the way. And I know I have a bed when I get to DC

I called today to the "host hotel" in Arlington, once again they released the rooms early and none are left. . So much for the Dec 12th hotel list. I was able to get a room at the Westin Arlington Gateway which is a few blocks away, as of 2pm today they still had a number of rooms available. The contact number is 703-717-6200
