Below is the reply from Laquinta after I sent them a nasty gram.

I am writing regarding your recent stay.  First and foremost, we apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.  Our goal is for every guest to be completely satisfied. We have many policies, procedures, and training programs available to ensure the best possible results.  We realize, however, that there is always room for improvement. I want to thank you for responding.  It is solely intendended to improve customer satisfaction.  These email results are placed in high regards throughout our organization, and are read by may different members of La Quinta from senior management to field employees such as room attendants and front desk representatives.
I am sorry that there were issues with not telling you the pool was closed. It has been down since Monday 07/19/10 we had to order a part that was on backorder. Which the pool is back up and running, I see that there are training issues that will be addressed.  I am sorry about the lack of communication to you about why the pool was not open.  We would like you to please give our property in Texarkana another chance to meet your expectations. I have credited you back 1000 points to your returns account.
Fill free contact me if there is anything I can help with.

Dutch, there was not a single U-turn made. You will be harrassed about picking a motel with a broken pool though.

Had a great time and am looking forward to Kerrville.

I think it tells the mindset of Barbara Walters.  Shame on her.

Jane Fonda is being honored by Barbra Walters as one of the" 100 women of the century" that made a difference.  Think about this and do what you can.

Looks like everyone had a GREAT time in Texarkana.  I am thrilled that everyone got together.  My eye exam and dylation went well.  The exam showed that an eye muscle infection is causing the migrain headaches.  Looks like I will be on antibiotics and eye drops for a while.

I truly missed everyone, including the harrassment for making wrong turns.

I will see everyone in Kerrville in September.

Had a big time in Texarkana.  It was good to visit with new friends.  Leading the group was a confidence builder.  Thanks for the opportunity.  I won't be tacky and mention the closed pool.

We had a great time visiting with friends and that was an awesome steak for dinner. Whoever picked that place you did a mighty fine job. Great ride.

Gunner & Betty Boop, We enjoyed the visit after the ride and getting to know you guys better.

Has anyone thought about a group ride to the reunion in Kerrville? We plan to leave DFW Friday morning and return Sunday. 54 days until we meet again.

Mojo & Wicked made it home around 3 p.m. Sunday.   A 9 1/2 hour ride....a long but safe trip back home.   Hope you guys got a chance to have breakfast before all heading back, as well.     We rode about 2 hours, & finally found a Cracker Barrel (at the Terrell exit to boot!) to eat something.    We left at 5:13 a.m. ---I was thinking of you guys----sleeping away..!!!!      Man, that's the time to fly through D/FW.    We had I-30---BOTH LANES--literally to ourselves for over an hour.        We set our high beams on & flew down the highway (watching for deer, naturally).    We also stopped at our Weatherford & Cisco exits.

Anyway, we had a good time seeing everyone!      See everyone in Kerrville---it'll be here before we know it..!

David,

Sparky and Ghost Rider will be at Denny's. I will have my trailer with bottled water on ice. Do we have an updated list of who will be going from DFW?

Dutch emailed this morning and stated that he will NOT be able to attend - see the previous post.  He also asked if I could assume the lead for getting us on the road.  I told I would try to fill at least one of his shoes.

The plan is still to meet the Dallas riders at the Denny's on the north east corner of I30 at the Beltline exit at 0800 for breakfast, jumping on the I 30 around 0900.  We can refine the plan when we meet.

I can be reached at 214.448.2524  (cell).

Look forward to seeing you all again.

Too Tall and Too Small;   Sorry you can't make it to Texarkana.  Congratulations on being elected to the BOD.
Maybe you can adjust the timing for the Louisiana trip and just come to Texarkana in the truck or car.  If you do I'll let you ride my HARLEYBig smileLOL.
Be Safe.
