This year on the Central Route Trunks included Platoon 7 and 8 in as part of the rotation, which allowed them to lead the pack for a few days.  That was simply outstanding.

Well done!!

You should have seen the smile on Grumpy's face when they pulled into DC this year. After many years of being the ugly step child platoons, they got their due this year. Well done Trunks. I hope it continues.

It was an absolutely FANTASTIC sight!!!  I have some photos of when they came into Raton in the lead.  Will post the album links when they're all up - I'm hoping by the end of this week!

Great job and it was nice to see everyone come in as a group
Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation. Thanks SheWolf

It was a great honor this year to be treated as though we were part of RFTW in many ways. Leading into Arlington was such an emotional thing for me since Grumpy had me lead the platoon. I was thinking of all of the reasons I do the run and the friends I ride for and had a really hard time focusing on the riding part. Grumpy finally rode up next to me and told me "Breathe". I looked over (Deaf) and said what and she repeated it, and I finally got it. I was able to focus a little better but that was the hardest leg on any of the 4 runs I ever did! I was worried that if I screwed up they wouldn't let us do it again and I was so overcome by the emotional aspect of coming in not just with the pack but infront that I really had a hard time with it. I am forever gratefull for the opportunity to be in the front this year.
I am attaching a photo of 7th platoon (YOU ROCK)

As the platoon leader of CR 8 I was also very proud, greatfull, and humbled to have the oportunity to be in front of the pack. Many thanks to NO TRUNKS for making it possible for us. This was our 4th year, 2nd all the way, and also thanks to Grumpy and Richboy for teaching me how to guide and lead a platoon of Trikes across this great nation. I think, no I know, all the leadership did a fantastic job.
See all next year in Ranch for again all the way.

Ed

Privilege working with you and seeing you and your team in action.  Platoon 8 really came together in Junction City.  You did an outstanding job.

Ride with you any day!!!

I have been saying for many, many years now, that plt 7&8 should be right behind the RG's. This is a MISSION, and all military leaders will tell you, "the mission goes only as fast as your slowest man". Not only are they the slowest, but, as y'all age Embarrassed they need to be in first for the restrooms, gas, chow and be closer for parking. Glad some is starting to listen.....
