Well, the Doc says that I can take a real ride now. Hoorah!!!! The trip I am planning on taking I would like to stop by Angel Fire, New Mexico. I have never been there before. For those of you that have been there, how much time would you set aside to visit. thanks for your help.

CommoDog - it would be a good one day visit. The memorial is quite something to see; quite a bit to absorb. Lots of emotions there....
The Angel Fire resort is a great place to stay!! God speed on your visit.

Hi! Somewhere between four hours and a lifetime would be two answers. Seriously. you might want to plan a four hour visit to take in the Angel Fire Memorial - - - the first time. When you come back (and you will come back), you will have a good idea of what you need to accomplish and how long it takes. Mornings are absolutely beautiful with the sun rising over the mountains at the east end of the lake. Evenings are likewise beautiful with sunsets that are breathtaking. I still suggest at least four hours the first time. Thanks, Nighthawk

Angel Fire is one of the BEST stops on the CR. I tell people that if they don't know about our experiences in Vietnam, go there and learn first hand. It is an awesome, emotional and "spiritual" place for Vietnam vets and an educational place for all to visit.

Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation. Thanks SheWolf

FYI. The Central Route RFTW Reunion is usually Labor Day Weekend, and we (RFTW) do a "work project" at the Memorial in Angel Fire laying bricks. All are always welcomed and invited from both CR and SR.
It should be 8/31/2012 to 9/2/2012. Edited by KLo - May-29-2012 at 4:31pm |

I have been to Angel Fire several times and each time it amazes
me. while there I would ride over to Red River for a small town meal and wonderful folks in the mountains. Old Tymers cafe is a must stop there each time I am anywhere close................. |
