Wayne “Big Grumpy” McVeigh passed away today. He was a man with a beautiful heart - may he rest in peace. This is Monsoon’s tribute to him:

Chapter 785 has lost a "brother," the PGR a rider, "Run For The Wall" a participant and "Snowball Express" a staunch supporter. This morning "B ig Grumpy," a Vietnam Veteran, stood his last formation and is now cradled in the Lord's arms. "Big Grumpy" was a Veterans Advocate and did much for the veteran community and their families in need. He "walked the talk" and spoke his piece when it came to taking care of our own. A big man with a big heart who will be missed by so many. "Big Grumpy" led the PGR Escort for the three years that Snowball Express was in California. He was instrumental in having a commemorative Snowball Express patch designed and made for the families of Snowball Express and the riders who escorted them. He will be missed but his legacy will live on with all those that he reached out and touched. "Fair winds and following sea's my brother"......Love you, God speed and Semper Fi Monsoon

VISITATION MONDAY NITE, 5-8 PM, APRIL 30, AT WESTMINSTER GARDENS MEMORIAL ON BEACH,  ACROSS the STREET FROM the AMERICAN LEGION HALL SERVICE'S NEXT DAY, MAY 1ST. SAME PLACE, AT 9;30 AM, FUNERAL AT SAME, BURIAL AT "CITY OF BREA'' with FULL HONORS.

Never forget!

Just to be clear; Wayne McVeigh's road name was "Grumpy" not "Big Grumpy" as he might had been known as in VVA Chapter 785. He was also one of the Founding Members (Plank Holder) of Vietnam Veterans of America, North Orange County CA, Chapter 1024 and had seved as President. Grumpy was a proud member of Vietnam Veterans Legacy MC. he was an outstanding Veteran's Advocate and will be missed by many. RIP Wayne "Grumpy" McVeigh.

Bump.  I cannot attend the PGR mission tomorrow because of work but I will have a moment of silence for him.

RFTW was well represented @ Grumpy's funeral service today, along with; Vietnam Veterans MC, Legacy Vets MC, PGR, American Legion Riders, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapters 756, 785 & 1024 and others. Gumpy was escorted by approximately 200 motorcycles to his final resting place in Brea, CA. Grumpy had the whole thing planned (including music) and paid for. Music was appropriate: Frank Sinatra "I Did It My Way". RIP Brother Grumpy.
