Went to a bike blessing ceremony today with 1,140 bikes present. Got bike tuned and new brakes yesterday.  I am so ready to go I think I may go crazy before May. Anybody have a 52 day sleeping pill.

Took the trike in last week for excessive back firing and to have it checked out, good thing because turns out the motor (33000) miles is shot. Did not run,sound, or feel like it was. So long story short it is a complete overhaul. What makes me mad is I bought this trike used with 628 yes 628 miles on it and it has had religious service ever since. So now instead of a lot of time to go back over everything to be ready to go ALTW we are nerveious. Harley said it will be ready by April 18th so then we want to put on 1000 miles or so to break it in and make sure everything is good to go. Good thing we live in Arizona where the weather is great.
So will see all in RC for the 4th year and to go ALTW the second time. We are going to be the Assistant Platoon leader for platoon 8 on CR to JC then platoon leader the rest of the way. Met with Recon the 8th platoon leader and  really enjoyed the meeting.

Ouch, only 33,000! My old Honda's got 55K on it. Never ran one past 68K cause I either are wrecked it or traded it, so I'm hoping she makes ATW. I guess if she dies on the way I'll bury her there and buy a new one when I get home. Or maybe I'll buy one to get me home. Hmmm, got me thinking' now...

Ed,
My HD with sidecar is at Evil Twin for its annual $2000 repair of some sort (the real cost of owning a HD).  They are tied up with Bike Week stuff and are not sure when I will get it back.  Good thing I have others to ride during Bike Week.  I will be SOL if they do not get the HD ready for RFTW.

That is why HD stands for $100 bills. I sometimes think we are crazy for riding the HD but have been doing it since 1955. Yes we had to cancell AZ bike week also cause I don't have a spare. I told Antheman  Harley not to let bike week interfere and they said it would not, we will see, so lets keep our fingers crossed and we all have a safe tirp on this mission.

Both of Vance's Yamaha's had over 100k before he traded or wrecked the only time in shop other that regulars service was for a tran recall on the tran on the 2001, the 2007 had 138K when it was totaled 2009 when he was run off the road in an early morning hit and run on his way to a PGR mission. We liked to ride.  Most people thought it was a HD, good looking bike without the problems of a HD.WinkEvil Smile

Don't get me wrong I love my HD but------- I took it in 7 weeks ago for an oil leak. After in and out of the shop for 7 weeks every seal has been changed, new clutch, new tramsmission, still leaks. Now they say its a bent shaft. Not sure when they will have my bike up and running but 1 way or another I will be ready to go ATW in May. I told my wife either it will be on Ole Blue or the new 1. But go I will. Be safe all.

Received the call earlier today from Evil Twin.  The bike is ready for only $760 this time.  Of course, it will go in one more time before I leave for two new rear tires (sidecar), new fluids and final systems check.  I will pick it up on Monday and try to put 1000 miles or so on it before I leave.  The Suzuki needs a break.  Took the wife's Sporty (2003 with 2500 miles) through emissions on Wednesday.  Forgot how small and cramped it is.

Hello;
     As your name implies, Joker, Harleys can't go that fast.  This is from a Honda , Kawasaki rider. Also those Harley have a hard time going over 100 miles without repair, that is why there is so many Harley dealers ready to take your money.LOL
     Subrat,Clap  Now let the feedback begin.

130? I'm pretty sure my old Honda won't go that fast and I'm damn sure it wont do it with me on board. Got no need for that kinda speed (or nerve either).
