My wife and I are meeting up with the group at Grand Prairie, Tx and want to camp all the way to DC.  This is our first time.

Good Deal, Miami and Mrs. Vice!

We have a beautiful invitation to camp in Grand Prairie on the "one day to be built" church property of one of the local congregations.  They have arranged everything from a porta-potty to a fire pit and showers nearby!  I think there is a generator in there somewhere as well- we are covered.

If you send me your email I would be happy to send the whole camping plan in detail.  You won't need the part for the first three days, but you might like to see the whole picture.

Welcome aboard,

Sidewalk (tomcameron@cox.net)

laikhe67tc,

I am going to meet up with the group in Grand Prairie also, will there be a group breaking off from the main group to head to the camping location or will everyone just head over there on their own?

also where will the be having the registration done at?

Tom - Thanks for the efforts on the camping list. Looking forward with enthusiasm to the mission.

I hate to ask another dumb question about camping , but, do we arrive at each nightly stop during daylight?  I do not like setting up tents at night.

OK Lets get this straight There are no dumb questions.....

I believe there is plenty of light to set up tents under, but I will defer to sidewalk expertise

I hope everyone saw the memo about bringing a flashlight that can be held in one's teeth...

Sorry, I just had to do that!

There should be plenty of daylight for setting up tents at the places we need to do that.  There is usually time enough while the riders with hotel reservations are off to check in, before we re-assemble for any evening activities.  Other than that first night in Rancho where our camp site at Prado Park is about 15 minutes away, all the rest of the camping is very close by.

If you are planning to camp and have not yet read the camping program, shoot me an email and I will send you a copy listing each evening's protocol.

tomcameron@cox.net

(PS  I tried sending the above mentioned to Miamivice47, but it bounced back as undeliverable?)

OK, the question is not dumb, but I did not see anything about arriving in the day or night.  I just do not like setting up a site in the dark.  Thank you Sidewalk.  Now I just need to find my way to Padro Park.

On the map, you will see "Prado Reservoir" at the south end of the park.  It is a long winding road, but that is probably where we'll be- at least that's where they have put us before.  You will recognize the group...
