It sure seems that you have most of the camping well under control.  Where is the pic?

It is always a pleasure to see someone pack a bike more then I do. I came out of sturgis one year the GF had to be lifted ans set in place and as I was riding down the road I had to lean forward to keep the front wheel on the ground. Everytime I hit a bump the front end would rasie off the road. Rode that way for 90 miles then downloaded and sent stuff home in the mail. But I pull a trailer now helps alot and Toothless I hope you make it atw just bypass wythvile and you will be ok twice there and twice got hurt should change your roadname to Wythville Crash LOL!!!! Happy new year all

Sidewalk,
My broke down big time on the way to Avondale last year, but everything is going to be fine this year.  I will start in Avondale and be with you camping the rest of the way.  I have a sidecar now so will not resemble Tom's load plan this year.  Sounds like you have done a great job.  I appreciate all your efforts.

Welcome Embe to the tent brigade!  Looks like there will be a whole platoon of sidecars this year!  That will be fun to see!

I'm an FNG this year and considering camping on the Run.  I read your post about the Arlington Assembly and have a question.  Did you leave your stuff at the Assembly during the weekend activities or did you pack up each day and take all your stuff with you?
Thanks,
Terry

I don't camp at the church, not sure about security there during the day for gear.  Anybody have information on this?

Ref Camping at Arlington/Washington D.C

Never camped at the church, everyone I know when to the other campsites on the list.

For FNGs, would NOT recommend doing what I did my FNG year.

I stayed at Cherry Hill Park, Beltsville, MD.  Wanted to check it our anyway for a potential trip back east.  Big mistake.  Don't get me wrong, Cherry Hill Park is a wonderful campground, very friendly, well equipped.  Driving there was the issue.

Major traffic backup on Friday (before Memorial Day) caused what should have been a short ride to turn into 1 1/2 parking lot experience.  Not good.

Lake Fairfax or Burke Lake would have been much more desirable options... Consider this when selecting other sites on the way -- (followed the group, always found a place to pitch a tent along the way, no need to make camping reservations)  Just a thought...

BigE thanks for the foresight.Only fell in Wythville once. Second time in Meridian Miss. Wythville people were great as they helped me to get back to the park and had someone watching the bike for me. Those folks made sure I got back on the road to DC. There's not enough words to say about these good folks. Also their ER staff was also out standing. The only thing they couldn't figure out was why I was still going on to DC. I don't have to explain it to anyone who loves the run and what it stands for. Hey the third time 's the charm!!
