To give you an update on Lorrie, she is still in the ICU and they tell me she is making progress although it is very hard to tell. She is still on the breathing machine and is being monitored very close. I was there all day today and she knows who I am and is awair of what is going on but they keep her asleep most of the time. Riding the Central Route into Rainelle today was an amazing event. The ride was great the crouds everywhere and the children excited to see us. This being my FNG ride, I had heard what to expect, but what I heard was far underrated for what I beheld. I felt like I was home and all my family was there to welcome me. The experience was overwhelming enough as I walked inside the new school building until I saw all the childrens pictures and started reading their stories on the title My Favorite Veterans. I had read maybe 15 stories that were very good. Some funny "I love veterans because they have guns". I loved that one. Then I read the following story.

I was a little emotional before I read this letter but after reading it I just lost it right in the hallway. I couldn't control my emotions any longer. I just stood there in the hallway a fully grown man with streams of tears rolling down my cheeks. I was touched to the heart. Another brother behind me put his arm on my shoulder and asked if I was okay. I had no response. He said we were all in this together and I felt somewhat better and was able to compose myself. Lunch was great. Signing the kids autograph books was great. Everything in Rainelle was great, but the pictures and the letter by the children shook me to the soul. Rainelle children are as loving and as American as they get. God bless them and their amazing parents and teachers.

Your comments have nothing to do with the issue being discussed in this topic. No one has said anything bad about the way the road guards on RFTW do their job. Without them and the wonderfull job they do, their would be a lot more people hurt. The problem here here is the safety issue of riding side by side or steigered. No one is going to change their mind about the way they ride. And that's ok. Thr problem here is that the Centeral route says " it's my way or the highway. They won't allow a platoon of steigered riders. They claim that it is a safety issue. If that is the case them why does 80% of the southern route ride steigered? I love RFTW, I just want to see the patriotism this country showes as we pass by. I have family Kansas would like to go that way.
